MLD Ireland believes that to maintain a high standard of manual lymph drainage, practice should be confined to those who have undertaken, or are undertaking training through the Vodder, Leduc, Földi, Casley-Smith or Asdonk methods. Membership will therefore be confined to individuals who satisfy the Association’s requirements. If you are engaging a therapist, it is your responsibility to request that your therapist furnishes a certificate of competency for viewing. Our members are always happy to oblige. To find a therapist in your area, please select a county from the drop-down list, and press the “Search Therapists” button.
Each Full, Associate and Aesthetician Member must provide documentary proof of qualification. However MLD Ireland does not seek to assess the individual abilities of each member and therefore accepts no responsibility for the competence of the practitioner.
MLD Ireland has 4 Membership categories :
Full Member – A person holding current full qualifications in methods approved by the above mentioned schools. Full members are required to update their theoretical and practical knowledge by attending a review on a bi-annual basis.
Associate Member – A person holding current intermediate qualifications in methods approved by the above mentioned schools.
Aesthetician Member – A person holding a Vodder qualification in the treatment of neck and face.
Honorary Member – Someone who has made an exceptional contribution to MLD.
* Full Member listing indicates the ability to practice and treat people with lymphoedema.
* Associate and Aesthetician Member listing indicates the ability to treat people who have a healthy, uninterrupted lymphatic system, not people with compromised systems.
